What is Dyscalculia?

eventbrite image.jpg

Dyscalculia is a difficulty understanding maths, including number-related concepts, symbols, and shapes.

Are you wondering:

  • What is dyscalculia? How does it differ from more general maths difficulties?
  • How can I tell if my child has dyscalculia?
  • What interventions and support work best for dyscalculic children?
  • Where can I go for further information?

This talk, from Judy Hornigold, will help answer all these questions.

About the speaker: Judy Hornigold is an independent educational consultant specialising in dyscalculia and dyslexia. She is particularly passionate about the teaching of maths and of finding ways to support learners with dyscalculia and general maths learning difficulties. She has written an accredited dyscalculia course for the British Dyslexia Association and several books on dyscalculia and maths generally, as well as a guide for parents of children with dyslexia.

Free and subsidised tickets are availble on all our courses - please email [email protected] for more details.
