Join us for a talk about a group of Dulwich based communists in the post war period

Continuing our local history talks series, Duncan Bowie, of the Dulwich Society, will talk about a group of Dulwich based communists in the post war period, including George Thomson, Jonathan and Frida Knight, Alan Upward, Monty and Jean Shapiro. He will also discuss the links of the postwar Dulwich Labour MP, Wilfred Vernon, to communists.

About the speaker:

Duncan Bowie is an academic at the University of Westminster. His most recent book, The Radical and Socialist Tradition in British Planning: From Puritan Colonies to Garden Cities, was published in 2016.
