The Learning to Care project at Bell House has been set up to help educate people on how to care for and support their elderly family, friends and neighbours. Through a series of talks and short films, we plan to address a wide range of issues surrounding elderly care, including dementia, safety in the home and support available to carers.

The start of caring is the worst’

‘Nobody seemed to know what to do’

‘Getting used to the new relationship dynamics is really difficult’

Caring for people who are a part of your personal life can be very demanding and each person’s experience is unique. Perhaps you have a parent living with you in your home who needs significant help, or maybe you are supporting your elderly neighbours to continue living independently. Whatever your circumstances, we hope that the resources available on this page and through our events will provide you with support and insight into some key topics.
