Menopause Support Group: The Importance of strength training and pelvic health in menopause

Addressing Misconceptions about Exercise in Middle Age and the Truth of Pelvic Health Symptoms

Menopause Connections: A Holistic Approach to Menopause is proudly presented by a team of local menopause practitioners covering nutrition, pelvic health, fitness, medical and natural approaches to managing menopause symptoms.

The third event in the series will be led by:

Annabelle Fish, Chartered Physiotherapist and founder of Annabelle Fish, Women’s Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, and Siri Andersen, Level 3 Personal trainer specialising in pre/postnatal and peri/postmenopausal exercise, founder of Stronger By Siri

Attendees of the event will discover:

- Why strength training becomes increasingly important as we age

- Why increasing your cardio workouts isn’t the answer to losing weight in menopause

- Practical strategies to deal with the common Genito-urinary Symptoms of Menopause (GSM). Among other conditions, GSM encompasses urinary urgency, stress urinary incontinence, symptoms of prolapse, and pain with intercourse.

- Useful resources and suggestions will be shared and discussed so participants feel empowered and in control.

Following the presentation, there will be time for informal questions and connecting with all the Menopause Connections Team and other attendees over a cuppa.

Annabelle and Siri will be supported by the other members of Menopause Connections:

Dr Tanya Patrick, NHS GP and Menopause Expert. Co Founder of BiOrigin: an Integrative Health & Hormone Clinic

Belinda Wahla Natural Health Practitioner, registered Homeopath, kinesiologist and EFT specialising in menopause, founder of B-well Health.

Amanda Duncan Registered Nutritionist and founder of Amanda Duncan Nutrition.
