Curated by Lucy Bainbridge
Michaela Wheater
Michaela Wheater’s work is concerned with the human condition and is made from a deep personal exploration of vulnerability. Theatrical, articulated figures, often unsettling, are derived from drawings of herself. They adopt the awkwardness and the guise of the puppet she has owned since childhood.
Rosalind Hobley
Rosalind Hobley works with the figure and still life. Her photographs emphasise the sculptural qualities of flowers and the human form. She loves to use cyanotype printing and photogravure for their painterly qualities and expressiveness.
Freddy McBride
The Empty Vessel series is a body of work exploring the decision making, or absence of the same, of both the individual and those that influence wider society.
Lucy Bainbridge
Lucy uses driving rain on windows to distort historic landmarks into colourless disintegrating forms only just recognisable.
Her prints, like climate change, can be perceived as just another rainy day.
Lesley Syme
Lesley’s work is inspired by the environment around her, finding beauty in simple botanical structures and forms which she translates into unique one-off prints and photograms.
Jennifer Moore
Jennifer works between sculpture and printmaking and considers space and place; structure and skin; surface and texture; ruin and decay; balance and weight.
