Bell House has three key streams for funding requirement

…Core support

Our Core charity supports:

  • Dyslexia

  • Schools’ Enrichment

  • Bell Health

  • Learning to Care

Reduced social isolation, improved self-confidence and community cohesion are just some of the impact stories from the delivery of Bell House projects. Our initiatives have broadened the horizons of primary pupils identified as some of the most socio-economically disadvantaged including refugees and those living in temporary accommodation. Appealing to the hard to reach, including older teenagers from BAME communities, we leverage new skills, personal creative development, and improve future career opportunities.

Your donation helps to ensure this impact is sustainable by supporting the provision of specialist equipment and resources and subsidised or free places on our workshops.

 …Volunteer-led activities

Bell House provides a great platform for volunteer led charity events activities. These include Quilting, Film and Arts events, Gardening and other Bell House Regulars.

We are supported and driven by a network of over 200 volunteers and, through their generosity, we are able to reach into the very heart of our community. For example, our Quilt Academy, whilst harnessing the power of intergenerational collaboration, create incubator quilts for the neonatal ward at King’s Hospital. At a time when new parents are experiencing some of their darkest days feedback has shown that these quilts provide a ‘bright and positive introduction to their new baby’ and nurses feel ‘warmed and encouraged by these acts of kindness’. Current projects include quilts for Afghan refugee families, hot water bottle covers for Brixton Food Bank and quilts for young people leaving care.

Your donation supports the purchase of materials and resources to continue this and other similar volunteer led projects.

…Bell House

Bell house is a centuries old building and requires continual support to maintain the beauty of the building and gardens within heritage standards. The house provides a venue for educational activities such as dyslexia touch typing training, and volunteering activities. The beautiful gardens are home to bee hives that produce fragrant honey, a fruitful vegetable gardens.

The generosity of our donors has enabled the build of a dipping pond that will be the home to wonderful wildlife and plants – a haven for our inner city school children.

It costs over £140 a day for basic running of Bell House, your donation will go a long way to support the upkeep of the house and gardens.
