1811 lease plan-2.jpg

The second of two talks on the fascinating history of Bell House.

Dulwich Connections II: Harding, Widdowson and Bell House

Building on the recent research by Sharon O’Connor on the history of Bell House, Ian McInnes will explore Dulwich’s Victorian connections, the buildings, and the families who lived in them. This talk will cover Anthony Harding, inventor of the department store, and George Widdowson, jeweller and goldsmith to Prince Albert, who both lived in Bell House in the 19th Century and who are typical of the businessmen who moved though Dulwich at that time.

Tickets are £5, with proceeds going directly towards a new interpretation board outside Bell House.
