Due to current public health concerns, this event has been postponed and a future date is still to be decided. Please look out for further information.

We’re living longer and getting older is something to celebrate. Come and hear Maggy Pigott talking about her book ’How to Age Joyfully: Eight Steps to A Happier, Fuller Life’, a concise and uplifting guide on how to add life to our years, as well as years to our life.

Research and evidence shows that our actions and behaviours can make a significant and positive difference to our physical and mental health and wellbeing. Maggy will cover the ‘what, why and how’, touching on some of the book’s over 100 practical tips, and wonderful quotes from inspiring role models, including Judi Dench.  Dame Judi wrote the Foreword saying – ‘this is a book that I believe is long overdue…’

The book has received positive reviews and endorsements, including from experts in the health and ageing world. Sir Muir Gray (Professor and Consultant in Public Health, first Chief Knowledge Officer for the NHS, author and more) has called it ‘an outstanding book…a manifesto for living better longer’.

Maggy retired from a long Civil Service career in 2011. She has since relished a very different life, including taking up dancing and volunteering. She is Vice Chair of Open Age. This London charity - to whom Maggy is donating 50% of her royalties - provides activities and classes for thousands of over 50s, helping them to age joyfully!

Tickets cost £10, with any proceeds being split between Link Age Southwark and Bell House’s Learning to Care programme. Maggy’s book will also be available to buy.
