TechTogether: Staying Safe Online

TechTogether Event Image.png

TechTogether is a new project at Bell House providing technical support and guidance to anyone who may need it. The workshops will be led by the friendly and patient Bell House volunteers: Liam, Georgia, Katherine and Johnny!

This session is about Internet Safety. The internet is a brilliant and useful tool that is becoming more and more part of our daily lives. That said, some of us feel a bit unsure or unsafe online and we want to help!

Here are some things that will be covered in the session-

  • What are online scams?

  • Fake websites

  • Email scams

  • How you can make your computer more secure

  • Simple yet effective tips for using the internet safely

The session will be an informal discussion where no question is a silly question!

This session will be delivered using Zoom. Before the session we will send you a guide on how to install Zoom on your PC, laptop or handheld devices (like iPad's or smartphones). You will be able to call Bell House before this session if you’d like help installing Zoom over the phone or if you have any questions about the workshop.

All skill levels are welcome, including absolute beginners! Feel free to do the workshop with a friend or family member, within the current Covid-19 Government Guidelines.

We understand using technology can seem a bit daunting but we will do everything we can to help you feel supported, encouraged and safe whilst using it. We might even have some fun!
