TechTogether: Basic File Management

This session is about the basics of file management.

About this Event

TechTogether is a new project at Bell House providing technical support and guidance to anyone who may need it. The workshops will be led by the friendly and patient Bell House volunteers: Liam, Georgia, Katherine, Johnny and Ben!

Here are some things that will be covered in the session -

  • Where do my files get saved on my device?

  • What is device storage?

  • How to save different files,

  • How to open, move and delete files,

  • What is a USB and what do they do?

  • What do the different file types mean? I.e/ JPEG, PNG, DOC.x etc

  • We will also touch on cloud storage.

The session will be an informal discussion where no question is a silly question!

This session will be delivered using Zoom. Before the session we will send you a guide on how to install Zoom on your PC, laptop or handheld devices (like iPad's or smartphones). You will be able to call Bell House before this session if you’d like help installing Zoom over the phone or if you have any questions about the workshop. All skill levels are welcome, including absolute beginners! Feel free to do the workshop with a friend or family member, within the current Covid-19 Government Guidelines. We understand using technology can seem a bit daunting but we will do everything we can to help you feel supported, encouraged and safe whilst using it. We might even have some fun!
