About the artists

Emma Mae is a 21 year old emerging artist from Leicester, who has been releasing catchy indie-pop since her eyebrow-raising debut single was dropped in August of 2019. The songwriter has been described as having an ‘open-book style of lyricism’ which has created the foundations for her music ever since, as she explores important topics such as mental health, eating disorders, harassment and insomnia in an accessible way, on top of hard-hitting love songs and bitter pop anthems. Emma has received frequent support from BBC Introducing, and has been featured in many publications over the past year, including DARK Magazine in Hollywood, as well as various local news sites in the UK. Emma Mae’s next and most exciting single is due to be released on April 30th, and marks the beginning of a new era of music for the songstress as she embarks on her biggest project to date.

Songs:

1. Seventeen: This track explores mental health in university students and captures some very relatable issues surrounding young people immersed in student culture, for example binge drinking, FOMO and depression.

2. Goodbye: This is a newer song that encompasses a songwriter’s thought process as she moves on from a bad relationship and is finally free, but then realises she has nothing left to write songs about.

3. Caffeine Pill: This song talks vaguely about insomnia as it compares someone’s actions in a relationship to caffeine pills, as everything they do keeps the other awake at night.

Mazed (Marte Barstad)

As an emerging Liverpool artist, originally from an island on the west coast of Norway, MAZED brings you her story through powerful melodies and phrases directly from the core of her heart. The music pumping through her veins is translated into epic pop; heavy and dramatic production. The artist behind MAZED writes to share with you all the emotions she experiences and invites you to feel them with her. You are let into the intimacy of her relationships, the dedication in her mind, and her determination through challenges. Listen carefully and you could learn a few of her secrets.
