Poetry under the Skies

Join multi-award-winning poet, Jenny Mitchell, for an afternoon, in conjunction with Dulwich & District u3a, of uplifting poetry.

About this event

This event follows the launch with them in April of her second collection, Map of a Plantation.

The event will take place in the stunning gardens of Bell House, Dulwich, where Jenny will be joined by several other poets. The afternoon will be opened by Helen Hayes, MP for West Norwood and Dulwich. She has called the poems in Map of a Plantation ‘a powerful evocation… of voices silenced throughout history’.

There will be an open mic. First come, first served.

Jenny will be happy to take part in a Q&A after the readings.

Please bring a stool or portable chair.

This is a free event but any donations are welcome and will be used for materials for our after-school club starting in September

Jenny Mitchell is winner of the Ware Poetry Prize 2021, the Folklore Prize 2020 and several other competitions. She has been nominated for a Forward Prize and a debut collection,

Her Lost Language, was voted One of 44 Books of 2019 (Poetry Wales). Her latest collection is Map of a Plantation (Indigo Dreams).
