Drawing from the Garden

Join us for a drawing workshop - all material provided

Working with the weather conditions, we will either sit and draw out in the garden, or bring the garden inside and work from still lifes and photos to depict our interpretations of the seasonal changes occurring in the Bell House gardens.

Learn about, or improve your skills with, drawing in a variety of media - pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolour. These classes are open to all abilities.

All materials provided, including paper and drawing boards.

About the Group Leader

Liz Charsley is a Canadian artist and teacher who has lived and worked in Herne Hill for many years, now spending more of her time in Canada with annual visits to London. Liz was Canadian Artist in Residence at Dulwich Picture Gallery for the Painting Canada exhibition and stayed on to teach at the gallery for a further 8 years.

She now runs private classes from her home in Herne Hill, which are zoom-based when she is back in Canada. Liz’s art practice is focused on the natural world, ranging from big vista landscapes to botanical drawings of wayside weeds. Her work is in many private collections in the UK and in Canada. She is delighted to be back at Bell House and hopes to see many familiar faces again at these classes .
