The Poet is Present is a new theatrical experience making its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
Join us for the first public preview of the production with readings of selected scenes by Olivia Dodd.
The Poet is Present is born from Olivia’s experience performing as a typewriter poet, writing custom poems on a typewriter for hundreds of strangers at events, or in public spaces like Regent’s Park. You’ll also have the opportunity to sit with Olivia for your own custom poem during the course of the evening.
About The Poet is Present:
We all long to be seen for who we are. But who sees you most clearly? Your inner critic, your best friend, or a stranger with a typewriter?
We unravel the timeless questions of self awareness, friendship, and our life’s purpose. This is a story where a girl unfolds her own myth. She struggles to be seen, so she looks inside the hearts of others instead. And this is a story of you, being written at this very moment.
Olivia is a performance poet and actor. Graduate from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama on the BA (hons) Acting course, she has performed her poetry for a wide array of clients, including Hermes, Montblanc, and Tate Britain. @olivia.poetess
