Fabric and Flowers
Sunday, 28th September, 9/10am-5pm
Join us for a creative and unique workshop combining sewing with floristry. Free sewing machine introduction session for complete beginners included with the price of the ticket.
In the morning you will get to work designing and sewing an all-purpose apron (using a beginner-friendly pattern). You’ll then don your apron and spend the afternoon in the beautiful Bell House garden, learning about seasonal blooms and creating your own floral arrangement to take home.
We will enjoy a lunch break together part way though the day (outside if it’s sunny!), so please bring a packed lunch with you.
This workshop is suitable for sewers of all levels! Please arrive at 9am if you are a complete beginner for a FREE one hour session learning how to use a sewing machine. If you already know the sewing machine basics then please arrive at 10am when the Fabric and Flowers workshop will begin.
What will be covered:

About the Tutors
Fabric - Amy
Amy’s background is in community engagement, working on projects across London in schools, gardens, parks and historic houses. It’s no exaggeration to say that her life was changed back in 2020 when a friend taught her how to sew a simple top - a whole new world of creative fun opened up! From then on she’s been making her own clothes and dreaming up textiles projects to share with others.
There’s nothing Amy enjoys more than helping others to start their own sewing journey. It’s her belief that everyone just needs that one friend to sit with them, teach them the basics and then they’ll be off!
Flowers - Rosie
Rosie is a south-east London based florist specialising in events, shoots, weddings and floral props.
