The Creative Arts Club: Art for All | Make a Driftwood Mirror Frame

  • Bell House Dulwich 27 College Rd England, SE21 7BG United Kingdom (map)

Make a Driftwood Mirror

Driftwood is beautiful to use in art and crafts. Sanded and smoothed by marine tides and weather, it reminds us all of precious times spent by the sea.

Sarah has a wonderful collection of driftwood gathered from beaches and riversides over the past couple of years, and a selection of found and responsibly sourced shells and stones. You will be given a mirror tile which you will attach to a plywood support as your base – and then you choose your pieces to arrange, glue * and make something truly unique to take home with you.

No experience is necessary. All materials and refreshments will be provided.

* We will be using hot glue guns for this activity – they are new and perfectly safe but please be sure to bring an apron with you.

About the Artists/Workshop Leader:

The session will be run by Sarah Wetherall, a local artist who has many years of experience running art workshops, activities and events for a range of diverse groups of all ages. She worked at Dulwich Picture Gallery for over 10 years – during her time there she developed a particular interest in the link between creativity, health and well-being. This lies at the heart of all her classes.
