  • Bell House Dulwich 27 College Rd England, SE21 7BG United Kingdom (map)

A single-day holiday club during the October half term.

A day that feels like theirs. This is an SEN holiday club for neurodivergent and anxious young people aged 9 to 16, the ones who find social spaces hard, but who still want connection, fun, and somewhere to feel comfortable being themselves. This is an SEN holiday club for neurodivergent and anxious young people aged 9 to 16, the ones who find social spaces hard, but who still want connection, fun, and somewhere to feel comfortable being themselves. It runs for one day during the October half term at Bell House.

It is delivered by SEN Manny Mentor, a specialist SEN mentoring and teaching organisation with a three-year history of running at Bell House. The day moves at a pace that suits each young person, relaxed and unhurried. There is space for quieter, solo and creative time, for gentler interaction, and for higher-energy group activities, with the choice, always, to simply sit back and watch. Choice sits at the heart of the day, and there is no expectation of full participation. Every mentor is enhanced-DBS checked and trained in the needs of the young people we support.

The day is built around three worlds, running side by side. Games and strategy, chess and card games they love and quietly learn so much from. Drama and play, improv and silly characters, a lot of laughing and no one ever put on the spot. And art and making, gentle, sensory-friendly creativity in their own time, from drawing and design to anime and manga. Young people move freely between all three, or simply sit back and watch.

Please note this is a group setting, not a one-to-one service. Our mentors work across the group, so if your young person needs the safety of one-to-one attention, you are warmly welcome to stay with them. For many young people, having a parent or carer nearby is exactly what makes a new environment feel possible. If ongoing one-to-one work is what they need week to week, our tailored one-to-one SEN mentoring and teaching service is there for exactly that.

The programme reflects a core belief of ours: that young people educated through EOTAS, home education, or those still linked to a school but struggling to cope, deserve access to meaningful peer groups and shared experiences, not only individual support. It is a real opportunity to make friends, to socialise, to build independence, and to grow confidence, communication, emotional regulation and the everyday life skills that reach far beyond the day.

Above all, it is a safe space, and safe spaces can be so hard for our young people to find. It is a small, warm group, held by experienced specialist SEN mentors who work day in and day out with autistic, ADHD, PDA, dyslexic, dyspraxic and anxious young people. We keep it deliberately small, with just nine places and two to three specialist mentors, so every young person is properly known and never one of a crowd.

This year the day runs for five hours, a little longer than our usual three, because our young people asked us to. They told us three hours goes too quickly, so for this one-day club we have made it longer. The day is overseen by our Founder and Lead Practitioner and our SEN Lead of Education and Inclusion. We get to know every family before they join, so we can tailor the day to their young person as far as possible, make sure it is a safe and suitable provision for them, and make sure it is the right fit. Register your interest on our website, we will have a friendly chat, and we will take it from there. We cannot wait to welcome new families, and to see familiar faces again.

The day costs £75 per student.
