Swap the high street for the garden this December and make your own botanical festive cards using handmade plant-based inks and simple printing techniques.
In this seasonal workshop you will learn how to make ink from natural materials – berries, bark, roots and more – and use them to create a set of handprinted cards with a quiet, natural beauty. We will explore a range of simple mark-making and printing approaches, from stamp and stencil to brush and monoprint, so you can find your own style.
You will leave with a set of finished cards ready to send, along with your ink recipe to take home and continue making. A perfect pre-Christmas treat for yourself or a thoughtful gift for a maker in your life.
All materials are provided.
The workshop is led by Zoë Burt, a London-based artist whose practice connects ecology, imagination and material culture through drawing, textiles and plant-based processes. (@zoeburtuk Instagram)
Please bring a notebook for personal notes. Protective gloves will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. An apron is recommended.
