The Creative Arts Club: Art for All | Colour and Light – A Collage Class inspired by the paintings of Anna Ancher

  • Bell House Dulwich 27 College Rd England, SE21 7BG United Kingdom (map)

In this introduction to collage we will look at ways to achieve luminous colour, inspired by the paintings of Anna Ancher from the recent exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery. Come along and find out how in this fun and playful class!

Wonderful Colour

In this class we will look at examples of paintings by Danish artist Anna Ancher and take inspiration from her use of colour. We will examine some key ways to make colours really sing.

You will then make a series of small collages exploring different ways to use colour.

You do not need to have had experience with collage or to have seen the Anna Ancher exhibition (Dulwich Picture Gallery) – this class is for everyone interested in having a morning of fun with colour.

All materials and refreshments will be provided.

About the Artists/Workshop Leader:

The session will be run by Sarah Wetherall, a local artist who has many years of experience running art workshops, activities and events for a range of diverse groups of all ages. She worked at Dulwich Picture Gallery for over 10 years - during her time there she developed a particular interest in the link between creativity, health and well-being. This lies at the heart of all her classes.
