BOOKBINDING: Stab bound hard cover album workshop
EXPERIENCE LEVEL – advanced beginner
Would you like to try your hand at bookbinding?
Join a small, focused group session where Anna will guide you through the process of creating your own hard cover stab-bound A4 album.
In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of measuring and preparing materials, understanding paper grain, accurate folding, punching, and a variety of stab-binding stitching techniques. You will also construct a hard cover, with opportunities to explore different design variations depending on your experience and confidence level.
This session is suitable for beginners as well as those with some prior experience. More advanced participants will have the chance to experiment with more complex stitching patterns and structural variations.
All materials and tools will be provided, with components prepared in advance to allow for an efficient and enjoyable making process.
This workshop is designed to give you a solid foundation in stab binding and case construction, along with the confidence to continue developing your skills at home.
Group sizes are kept small to ensure plenty of individual guidance and one-to-one support throughout the session.
Please bring a packed lunch and an extra layer as the workspace can get chilly!
COST £60 (ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED)
Please note: this workshop is not suitable for under 16s. Sharp tools will be used.
The workshop will be led by Anna, who holds an MA in Printmaking and has a strong background in book arts and material-based practices.
