An interactive session with Bell House dyslexia specialists.
Come and join our Bell House dyslexia specialists for this fun, interactive session and learn how to help your young person read and spell longer words.
Long words can be daunting to read and often even more so to spell, yet words such as ‘government’, ‘experiment’, ‘signature’ and ‘equipment’ are all on the primary National Curriculum. This session will give you the skills to break these words down into manageable chunks, also known as syllables and morphemes. These skills are required into secondary and beyond, so parents and carers of older children are very welcome.
We will start off with the very basics and use actions and activities so that you can replicate the learning at home. You will then learn how to break words down in order read them and then put them back together for spelling.
Get ready to move, take part, ask questions and have fun. Sessions are accessible for parents and carers of all levels of literacy as the entire session will be supported by our dyslexia team
All resources will be provided.
