Join the Rainbow Collective for a full-day practical workshop on campaign film making and citizen journalism.

About this Event

With a focus on low budget production techniques and maximising the impact of filming with mobile phones, participants will watch and discuss short films which have driven local national and international campaigns before planning and filming elements for their own videos.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have grown confidence and skills to implement professional techniques and practices to benefit their own campaigns. A Whatsapp group will also be set up for participants and mentors to continue supporting and advising each other as they practice and develop their skills in the future.

About the course leaders

Alongside their own feature length cinematic and broadcast documentaries, Rainbow Collective have produced videos for campaign groups and charities including Campaign Against Arms Trade, War on Want, Global Justice Now, TRAID, Childhope and many others, attracting well over 1.5 million views on social media in 2019 alone.

Work produced by Rainbow Collective’s students and workshop participants have been exhibited at the Tate Modern, the Houses of Parliament, Barbican, Odeon Cinemas, Roundhouse, and the United Nations.
