The Creative Arts Club – Art for All | Drawing from the Masters

  • Bell House Dulwich 27 College Rd England, SE21 7BG United Kingdom (map)

We start this year’s programme of monthly arts and crafts classes with Sarah, with a fun and relaxed drawing workshop. We will look to past masters for inspiration as we experiment with different materials and marks.

Drawing from the Masters

Everyone can draw! It is something we all do so naturally as children but often we lose the habit or the confidence as we move through school, and life. Drawing is a practice that can bring joy and freedom, whether it be doodling on a notepad or making a more considered study.

We will take inspiration from two fantastic current drawing exhibitions: “Impressionists on Paper” at the Royal Academy and “Holbein at the Tudor Court” at the Queen’s Gallery. We will look at how artists used different marks and materials to produce striking work full of life and immediacy.

After a fun warm up drawing exercise, you will move on to experimenting with mark making with a variety of different materials, and re-discover the freedom and the joy of drawing!
