For many, vocabulary knowledge is the gateway to reading comprehension, however it can also a significant barrier.

In this session, Sarah Ledger will guide delegates through how to look at vocabulary differently so we can decode meaning independently and at the point of need. We will look at techniques to connect vocabulary and increase reading fluency.

Sarah Ledger is a passionate educator, business leader and champion of enabling life progress through literacy. She qualified as an English and Drama teacher in 2003, and spent almost 2 decades teaching across KS3 to KS5. After significant years of school leadership, Sarah decided to leave the chalkface and became CEO of Lexonic in 2022. Since then, she has been the instigator of the companty's rapid international business growth in educating teachers and learning facilitators, and spreading its mission that ‘nobody should be limited because they can’t read’.
